“I do not come from a family of firefighters. I am the first in my family to be in the fire service. I always wanted to be a fireman growing up. I grew up watching my friend’s family that were firefighters and I always told myself I wanted to be one. I started volunteering 5 years ago. The thing I love most about being a firefighter is the family that came along with it. They say you can’t choose family but I sure did.”
